A Woodwind Quintet Based in Southeastern Massachusetts
Horn
Kevin Martins is an established hornist and music educator across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He has held the position of principal horn for The Parkway Concert Orchestra, and regularly substitutes with the Valley Winds Wind Ensemble in Western Mass. Kevin holds an Associates Degree From Bristol Community College in Philosophy and Psychology, a Bachelor’s Degree from UMass Amherst in Music Education, Horn Performance, Philosophy, and Psychology, as well as a Master’s Degree in Music Performance from UMass. Kevin has studied horn privately with Anne Howarth of the Plymouth Philharmonic, Laura Klock of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Anthony Cecere of the Metropolitan Opera and Jean Rife of the Boston Baroque.
During the day, you can find Kevin directing and conducting the Middle School Bands at Randolph Community Middle School, as well as teaching Private Horn Lessons in Franklin, MA. In his free time, Kevin is an avid drone pilot (KMart_FPV on YouTube) as well as a photographer (K. Martins Photography). If you ask him though, Kevin’s greatest accomplishments are his two children Leora (10) and Kellen (7), his two corgis Luke and Leila, and his marriage to Shannan Fruci-Martins.
